
Degree Requirements - 433A
Prerequisites: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, a North Carolina "A" or "G" license or its equivalent from another state, three years successful teaching experience, GRE or MAT scores, and approval of the Admissions Committee and the chairperson of the department are required.
Basic Criteria for Consideration include: Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours, GREV of at least 400 and GREQ of at least 300, MAT score in the 45th percentile or higher. A writing sample which addresses evidence of leadership activity in schools (Click here for MSA questionnaire) is also required, as well as three recommmendations, including a school principal with whom the candidate has worked.
Other Criteria include: letter from principal or school system superintendent supporting candidate's internship and an interview upon request.
MSA programs will begin in Fall of 2007 at Forsyth Community College in Winston-Salem, Isothermal Community College in Rutherfordton. Students are encouraged to join a cohort for classes as they are scheduled to accommodate that group.
